S.C. Sea Grant Releases FY2024-2025 Request for Proposals

Feb 13, 2023

The S.C. Sea Grant Consortium is pleased to announce that our biennial Request for 2024-2025 Proposals is open for submissions. The competition is open to faculty and staff from Consortium member institutions.

Approximately $1,000,000 from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is anticipated to be available, which will support five to seven one- or two-year projects that have applied outcomes for end users. Principle investigators interested in submitting a concept letter are encouraged to view the S.C. Sea Grant Consortium’s draft FY2024-2027 Strategic Plan for research and outreach priorities.

The Consortium welcomes concept letters from researchers with diverse backgrounds that respond to one or more of the priorities in the following program areas: Healthy Coastal Ecosystems; Sustainable Coastal Development and Economy; Weather and Climate Resilience; Sustainable Fisheries and Aquaculture; and Scientific Literacy and Workforce Development. We plan to sponsor an outcome-oriented, diverse research portfolio that links the scientific capacity of South Carolina with the needs of specific audiences and coastal stakeholders in both urban and rural communities.

Concept letters are due at the Consortium office on February 17, 2023. After a review of all concept letters, successful proposers will be invited to submit full proposals, which are due May 19, 2023. Questions about the biennial grant program or application process may be directed to Susannah Sheldon, Research and Fellowships manager, at (843) 953-2083.

The FY2024-2025 Request for Proposals, including detailed instructions, is available on the Consortium website. Projects funded for FY2022-2024 and impacts and accomplishments for FY2021-2022 also are available on the website.
