About the Event
Join the S.C. Sea Grant Consortium and the S.C. Aquarium for the second REconnect (Researcher/Educator) Symposium! The event will be held from 2–4 pm at the Boeing Learning Lab and we invite you to a special networking hour at the S.C. Aquarium from 4–5 pm. This free event is open to both scientists and educators.
This year’s theme is water quality and will connect nonformal and formal educators with water quality researchers and practitioners from coastal South Carolina. The objectives of this event are to:
- Provide a platform that engages scientists with sharing their research using non-lecture formats (e.g., demonstrations).
- Connect K–12 educators with scientists conducting coastal and marine science research related to water quality.
- Identify K–12 classroom applications that use ocean and coastal research to address S.C.’s College- and Career-Ready Science Standards.

Zero Waste Event
The REconnect Symposium will be hosted as a zero-waste event in partnership with Keep Charleston Beautiful.
