Palmetto Environmental Education Certification Program
- PEEC is South Carolina’s first environmental education professional certification, and is open to both formal and nonformal educators.
- The program is coordinated through a partnership between the S.C. Sea Grant Consortium and the Environmental Education Association of South Carolina.
- PEEC is endorsed by the S.C. Department of Education for 120 renewal credits and is valid for five years, with recertification available.
- In 2025, the program received national accreditation by the North American Association for Environmental Education.
- The national accreditation makes the certification valid nationwide.
