New Web Application Showcases Low-Impact Development Projects

Feb 25, 2012 | News

The Low Impact Development (LID) Atlas for South Carolina is a web application highlighting innovative LID projects that communities can implement to address stormwater and growth-related issues.

Hundreds of LID projects throughout the U.S. are mapped; these include the use of bioswales, rain gardens, permeable pavement, and green roofs. Part of a national mapping effort by the Nonpoint Education for Municipal Officials (NEMO) program, South Carolina NEMO, S.C. Sea Grant Consortium, and Clemson University, the atlas contains detailed information on 82 projects across South Carolina.
