Sep 15, 2021

Report cover.South Carolina’s beaches and barrier islands provide residents and visitors with jobs, recreational opportunities, coastal protection, critical habitat for bird, fish, and turtle species, and aesthetic beauty, among other ecosystem services.

The Consortium recently published a report to estimate the economic benefits of various beach- and barrier island-related ecosystem services where enough data were available.
