Nature-Based Tourism and Outdoor Recreation in South Carolina

Nature-based tourism and outdoor recreation include activities such as hiking, camping, fishing, biking, sailing, surfing, and bird-watching. South Carolina’s tourism industry is booming, thanks in no small part to the state’s beautiful natural environment and the many opportunities to enjoy it.

The S.C. Sea Grant Consortium provides science-based information to assist in the sustainable and well-managed development of this industry.

The SCNBTA is an association of nature-based tourism organizations both public and private.

The group promotes its members and endorses conservation of natural resources that make the nature-based tourism experience possible.
