Microplastics in the Coastal Region

This 2024 conference was hosted by NOAA’s National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science (NCCOS) and the South Carolina Sea Grant Consortium. It highlighted professional and student work, as well as community science activities, related to microplastics and nanoplastics research and mitigation efforts.

The goal of the conference was to coordinate efforts to understand impacts to biota, facilitate potential collaborations, and to identify priority research for the future.

The conference featured topic-focused discussions on funding and management, as well as sessions focused on gaps and priorities.
