
Cruising the Career Coastline
The goal of this project is to build a coastal career community of practice (“Coastliners”) within South Carolina that augments ocean literacy among students and teachers and advances opportunities for historically- marginalized populations to explore STEM-related fields in ocean science and exploration.
Project Objectives
- Develop a suite of highly accessible, inclusive, and robust STEM-based professional development and student learning opportunities related to ocean science literacy and careers.
- Remove barriers and actively advance access to ocean science information, opportunities, and resources through the co-production of a network comprised of coastal educators and students (“Coastliners”) representative of the diverse and/or historically marginalized populations.
