Consortium Awarded EPA Grant to Expand “From Seeds to Shoreline”

Feb 26, 2015

The EPA Office of Environmental Education provided $78,564 in funding to expand the successful “From Seeds to Shoreline” (S2S) program initiated by the Consortium in 2012. S2S is a student-driven salt-marsh restoration education effort. The Consortium’s marine educator, EV Bell, and staff from partnering agencies S.C. Department of Natural Resources and Clemson University will offer the program throughout South Carolina and train employees at informal science education centers on how to implement S2S by working with local schools in their area. Ultimately, S2S will be expanded to North Carolina and Georgia through the states’ Sea Grant programs and National Estuarine Research Reserves.
