About Brooke R. Saari
Brooke focuses on addressing information needs in the areas of water quality, stormwater, and coastal water resources through science-based outreach and education. She works with Consortium member institutions’ researchers, partners, and stakeholders to develop useful outreach programs for coastal South Carolina communities.
Brooke earned a B.S. in environmental science from Stetson University and a M.S. in environmental science from the University of West Florida. While an undergrad, she served as an Americorps volunteer with the Florida State Park Service focusing on natural resource management. After graduate school, Brooke joined University of Florida IFAS Extension and Florida Sea Grant as an extension agent, where she delivered outreach education programs on watershed awareness, fisheries and seafood, invasive species, and was an instructor for the Florida Master Naturalist program. After a move out west, Brooke became the extension coordinator for the Washington State University Center for Sustaining Agriculture and Natural Resources for five years. In 2020, Brooke moved back South to join the South Carolina Sea Grant Consortium team.
