Every year, the National Sea Grant College Program makes possible various competitions and internships to undergraduate and graduate students to further their education in areas such as marine science, marine policy, and fisheries management.

John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship
The John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship provides an educational experience to students who have an interest in ocean, coastal, and Great Lakes resources and in the national policy decisions that affect those resources.
Kathryn D. Sullivan Earth and Marine Science Fellowship
The Kathryn D. Sullivan Earth and Marine Science Fellowship is designed to increase the number of highly trained earth and marine scientists and enable graduate students to conduct earth and marine science research relevant to NASA and NOAA (Sea Grant).
Coastal Management Fellowship
The Coastal Management Fellowship provides professional on-the-job education and training opportunities for post-graduate students in coastal resource management and policy and to provide specific technical assistance for state coastal resource management programs.
NOAA Fisheries/Sea Grant Fellowship Program
The NOAA Fisheries/Sea Grant Fellowship Program trains students in fishery population and ecosystem dynamics and marine resource economics.
