About Amanda Namsinh
Amanda’s internship with the Consortium focuses on volunteer coordination efforts for a community-based salt marsh restoration and citizen science project in Charleston, S.C. She assists E.V. Bell, marine education specialist, with the implementation and delivery of this community-based project.
Amanda earned a B.S. degree in marine science in 2018 from the University of South Carolina. She started her career in oceanographic laboratory research management, but changed trajectories to pursue a career in coastal policy and resource management. In 2019, she enrolled in a concurrent master’s program in public administration and environmental and sustainability studies at the College of Charleston. Her master’s thesis aims to assess strategies used to achieve sustainable outcomes from community science projects in the southeastern U.S.
