Coastal Observing System: Sponsored by the NOAA Coastal Services Center, this website provides links to all organizations who belong to the Southeast COS, as well as those organizations involved nationwide.

• SEACOOS and Education Classroom

– SABSOON is the South Atlantic Bight Synoptic Offshore Observational Network, operated by the Skidaway Institute of Oceanography. Eight research platforms provide real time data about a range of oceanographic and meteorological observations.
– Caro-COOPS: The Carolinas Coastal Ocean Observing and Prediction System provides near real time data from five instrument moorings concerning weather and surface water conditions.
– CORMPS: The Coastal Ocean Monitoring and Research Program operated by the University of North Carolina, Wilmington provides information in near real time concerning oceanographic variables and the state of living marine resources.

Marine Resources Monitoring, Assessment, and Prediction Program (MARMAP), Southeast Area Monitoring and Assessment Program (SEAMAP)

MARMAP, SEAMAP: The Marine Resources Monitoring Assessment and Prediction Program assess the status of reef fish stocks by conducting life history studies on fishes sampled during annual surveys.
