Future levels of imperviousness can be estimated by looking at future growth possibilities. Here development is projected by using what's called a build-out scenario. It’s based on net buildable area, and what would happen if the area was fully built out.

As we look at this, we see that changes will likely occur. Impervious surface coverage will increase, and as a result, water resources will be much less protected, and more impacted or degraded.
