The S. C. Sea Grant Consortium is seeking an Administrative Coordinator for its office in Charleston, South Carolina. The South Carolina Sea Grant Consortium is a university-based state agency established in 1980 to optimize the environmental, social and economic potential of the coastal and marine resources of the state and region through the support of high-quality research, extension, and education programming. The primary function of this position will be to assist in personnel, purchasing, finance, auxiliary services and grants administration. This is a 100% federally funded position.
Primary Responsibilities
Coordinate general administrative, business management and/or support activities under the direction of the Consortium’s Assistant Director. Coordinates and assists in the performance of activities related to fiscal management, personnel management, procurement, supply services, auxiliary services, etc. Will assist in monitoring compliance with annual budgets; consults with program personnel regarding the availability of funds and preparation of funding requests. Conducts complex special assignments, prepares and maintains specialized records and reports. Provides consultation on established administrative policies and procedures as required.
Required Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree and relevant experience in business management, public administration and knowledge of South Carolina & federal rules and regulations. Must be able to effectively communicate with university and federal research administrators, grants accounting personnel, and research scientists. Experience in word processing, spreadsheet, database, web required.
